Individual health insurance is for individuals and families that do not get coverage through an employer. As an individual consumer, you have the freedom to apply for a policy through Covered California (“on” the exchange) or outside of Covered California (“off” the exchange.) When deciding if on or off the exchange is best for your situation, we highly recommend consulting one of our experienced agents as many factors are considered (i.e., state of health, if you qualify for a subsidy; how large/small your subsidy is; which networks your doctors are in, etc.) We likely will provide insight that you may not have considered before.
